Elaine Beck 0:00
Elaine Beck, hi everyone. Elaine Beck, here, and of course, this is my show. It’s not about us, and we just love having you here. And today, one of my favorite peoples here. I’m going to get his name right today. I’m not going to call him Armstrong. That’s our joke. My pastor’s name is Armstrong. Is his last name. This is my friend, Chad Conley, and he’s my pastor’s best friend. So I’m always intertwining the Jew. We have a good laugh over it, don’t we?
Chad Connelly 0:40
We do it. And look, you call me Brent Armstrong any days. I love that guy. You as you know, not only an incredible Bible teacher, but what an awesome guy, just a great man of God. I’ve known Brent for 20 something years, yeah, he has been a steady rock. When my wife died, he’s one of the first people there for me, right when I met Dana, he was one of the he was one of the few people I introduced her to, right? So I knew it’d be tough, but he’s been just a solid counselor and best friend and just a confidant. So you mix me up with Brent Armstrong any day. It’s an honor.
Elaine Beck 1:11
Well, okay, I will. I will remember that, but I really like you the person Chad. You’re great. Thank you. You are everything you described him as and I’ve always felt so happy to have met you, because you’re one of those cheerful, upbeat you know you’re you’re a man of God, and it’s obvious, thank you. You have that air about you that only you can get when you know God personally, that that feeling of purpose. People can see in you that that obvious joy, and we all get that joy when we know Him. Amen, right? Amen. You know you always have a spirit of hope. You know you’re always looking to the next thing you can do to make things better for others and and good Christians know that it’s always better to give than receive. Amen, you know, and I just admire you because you’re willing to travel this country over and over and and do so many things and challenge yourself to face different people that you’ve never met before, over and over again to get the people out, to vote out of the churches, amen. And you know, that’s not an easy job. But you know, we always understand that. You know, God gives us the tools. You don’t give us something to do without the tools. That’s right, and that means, you know, even the right attitude and the right circumstances and stuff, we might have trouble with planes once in a while, or cars or trains. How’s that go?
Chad Connelly 2:53
Yeah, planes, trains, automobiles, yeah, guys,
Elaine Beck 2:56
and, you know, things like that. But you know, we’re human, and we deal with all that humanity too. But you know, it’s wonderful to see somebody like yourself with that kind of spirit following God, and it makes you know, what I like to think is, I don’t want to just have people know me and see me and want to be like me because I’m nice. I want them to know me and see me because I try and act more like Christ every day. That’s right and and that, that’s a big, tall order, it sounds like, but really it’s not. If you just know his word, if you pray to Him, if you listen to him and answer him. I was just telling him a little bit about a story about what’s happened in my life right now, and a lot of change is going on, but it’s all based on, I’m listening to God. Yeah, that’s right, it. It’s pretty simple. If you learn how to listen,
Chad Connelly 3:58
number one is obedience, right? Yeah,
Elaine Beck 4:00
oh yeah. No,
Chad Connelly 4:01
you are so sweet to say that it means that means a lot to me, because, you know, you just want to do what’s right. You want to follow the Lord. Amen. I was in college, and I give my heart to Jesus at a church camp when I was 13 years old in 1976 right? When I met my future wife in college sweethearts. We sat on a bench at Clemson University, right, and we held hands. First day, I told her I loved her, and I said, you know, everything I’ve done in college, I feel like I put my fist in a bucket of water. When I pull my fist out, the hole is left as a difference. I made, Lord, I want to make a difference. And Michelle and I, we committed. Then, of course, you know, she died, no six. I know God’s been good. I met Dana, and we’ve been married almost 16 years. The four kids, we came home from a honeymoon with four kids under 10 who’d all lost a parent, right, right? But we’ve gotten to Watch God work, and he reminded me of that you said you want to make a difference, so even in the hard days, I think back to that we know because you’re right, human, we get tired, or airplane travels, frustrating, the TSA, it’s just nice, crazy. Easy, right? And you can’t make them make all the schedules, and it’s exhausting. But I told Dana the other day I had a pastor meeting. It was like one of those, one out of 100 and this pastor who had not been involved, not been engaged, I wouldn’t say hostile or negative, but reticent. Just didn’t want to do it, right, right? He just burst forth with excitement about, I get it, I see what you’re talking about. I didn’t understand, and I told Dana. I said, I can handle 2550, 100 ones that don’t go well for everyone. Now and then God had just tapped me on the shoulder and say, See there. Yeah, be encouraged. This the day
Elaine Beck 5:36
the Lord has made exactly and I was just talking about that with the pastor that was here before you about, you know, God gives us a new day every morning, amen, you know, and a new opportunity to make the right choice that’s right, and a new day that we can listen and obey it. It’s just so exciting. I was telling him, because this was off the camera, I’ll share it. It was so funny because I said I remembered that. You know, there was many times that I was at work and it’s Monday morning and I come in. Hey everyone, how you doing? Yeah, how was your weekend? Like, Monday? Do you have to talk? So what’s wrong with me? I’m like, it’s Monday, right? Yeah, what do you mean? You You’re it’s only Monday. Why would I be excited? It’s the first day of a whole new week, and I get to start over and try and do it better. That’s right, you know, I have something new to look forward to.
You know, remember Zig Ziglar, he said, people say, How you doing? He say, super good. And they go, super good. He said, Yeah, but it’s only Friday. It’ll get better. You know, with that that always anticipating, God’s got plan. And, you know, I run a lot of people, they’re just really upset about all the stuff going on in the country, almost negative. And I tell them, yeah, but think about this, God tapped me and you on the shoulder, to be right here right now, to be his instruments to fix this stuff. That was God’s decision. He plot, plugged us and put us in the earth, right here in America. So we can’t whine, we can’t complain. We can’t be weary in well doing. We gotta keep on doing. We’re doing to make a difference in the world for the Lord in the kingdom on earth. Just like pulling that, putting that fist in a bucket of water, making a real difference, not one that goes away, one that lasts
right? Oh, you’re so right. And, and I love these opportunities. Uh, yeah. I mean, I’m a human and so are you as guy. We have our moments, but of course, we have our moments. Of course, however, we know that we don’t have to overcome things alone. That’s right, you know? And that that’s the whole thing about my show. It’s not about us, amen, but if I’m focusing on doing what God wants me to, if I’m listening and following, yeah, it is the most exciting time of your life, and that doesn’t matter if it’s every day, that’s right,
Chad Connelly 7:56
that’s exactly right. You know, I am amazed that a lot of Christians will see the negative side of that. And I love your spirit and heart. And look, God put us together on a telephone call almost two and a half years ago, yeah, and we’ve been fast friends since then. And hey, what can I do? And I want to encourage you. Every time I talk to you, you’ve got an encouraging word. And I think a lot of people in our world, our orbit, need to hear that. They need to be encouraged. They need to know that, hey, God’s got a plan. I spoke at a thing a few weeks ago, and the person before me was just negative, Elaine. They were just, I live and Dana are like, Oh my gosh. She said, you’re next. What are you going to do to turn this around? I said, I don’t know. I’m going to pray. So I prayed right as I was walking up to the little stage area, and I said, But God,
Elaine Beck 8:37
yeah, but God. And,
Chad Connelly 8:39
you know, hey, look, he’s right. It’s a tough time. I get it. I’m with you, but God and we need to leave room for the idea that God might know what he’s doing and some of the most negative. And of course, that’s right, but for all this stuff going on, God’s not done. He’s on the throne, and the fact me and you are here means we’re supposed to do something about it,
Elaine Beck 8:58
right? And you know, I had a similar situation today with a wonderful man that I interviewed that his his son is actually one of the prisoners. Oh, wow. That was taken on October 7, and his entire village was destroyed, and 40 of his friends and family were killed, and they lost everything homes, everything they ever had, and his son is still captive. And, and we were standing in the lounge back there talking, and I said, you know, I heard you talking to somebody else. And, and you said, you know, I just can’t believe that I wasn’t there that day, that I’d come to Baltimore, in a in America, and I wasn’t there. And he said, I don’t know what happened. What would happen to me if I was there? I said, Please don’t feel that way. Don’t worry. About it, because God had you away for a reason. Amen. And he said, Yeah, and he’s the tears were rolling, he said, he said, but I want to be with my son. I said, maybe that’s why you’re away, that you need to be out of there to help with getting them rescued and stuff. I said, God’s got a purpose for you being away from there. Amen, you know, let’s wait and see what it is. Well,
Chad Connelly 10:22
in fact, I’m wearing a rubber wristband. It says, bring them all home now, yes. And I heard one of the hostage family speak at NRB yesterday. I was in an Israel display, and we got to see the Hamas videos that aren’t out public. And it’s just inhuman what these people did. I was in that village a year. It’s unbelievable. A year and a half ago, I was in that village that was overrun, and we’re see that kind of evil. We know it’s demonic, not human, good and evil, good and evil, and it is good and evil. We are in a war, and we as Christians, need to understand we’re in a war, yeah, every single day, but it’s not against flesh and blood.
Elaine Beck 10:56
You know? The thing is, is not only the people that are Christians need to know that. But the people of this world, in this country, need to know that you’re not just fighting for whether or not you believe in abortion, right? You’re not just fighting for whether or not you want your kids indoctrinated. You are fighting for eternity and living, and you know seeing Jesus return, and you should hunger for that if you don’t seek it out, go to the Bible, find a church, talk to a Christian, contact my organization. Contact Elaine Beck com, yeah, contact Chad Conley, you know, we we’re all here helping, you know what we can, but we’re one person, and we can’t reach everybody, but you can reach out to us, and we’ll be there for you. Amen. So, you know, I just love every time we have something, that we have an organized thing, that we can get together, I enjoy it. I
Chad Connelly 12:09
love it. I love it. It’s so great. We all need it. We all need the encouragement. We need to be around like minded people. Oh, absolutely.
Elaine Beck 12:16
It builds us up, doesn’t it? And and it’s exciting, you know, so I guess we’re going to close her now, but thank you for fitting me in. Oh my goodness, I couldn’t pass that up when I when I saw him and I had the opportunity. I’m like, now,
Chad Connelly 12:35
well, I just came off stage, and I was told Dana, I want to go find Elaine. Yeah, I want to go hug her neck before we go flying back tonight to go hit it again. Well,
Elaine Beck 12:43
I’m glad that you did this, so thank you. Thank you. And to all of you. You know that I’m always praying for you and that we’ll be back next time, so I’ll see you then. And God bless you.
