Hi, I’m Elaine Beck, and this is it’s not about us, my show that we just love to tell the truth about the good things that are happening in our country. And I know you hear the bad, oh my goodness. We all hear the bad. We have to touch on it. We have to look at it. We have to face it. Every day it’s there. But you know what? I want to be part of the solution, not the problem. And the solution is to turn to God and ask Him to help us, first and foremost, and then it is to lean on wonderful people that have given time in their life, like you Dan Bishop, who is my special guest today, that has given their time and their lives to serve their country. And Dan is in the house right now. He’s running for a new position in his state. Would you like to share that with everyone?

I’d be delighted, Elaine, but you started with the right place, which is fearing the Lord, if we can do nothing without him, and nothing apart from him. So you start there, and then you let yourself be guided by Scripture. And then you see from that point forward. But I many times people are putting their their faith or their certainty in a particular political position or political figure, and that never will be the solution, no only, only what the Lord teaches in the Scripture and living from that beginning. So starting with that, since you asked that, but I’ve been serving in the house, and I didn’t have a long standing ambition to come to the United States House of Representatives, but it’s been a fascinating life experience, and we fought for a lot of important things, but I’ve been led to run for attorney general of North Carolina, and I’m the Republican nominee. I did not have primary competitors in North Carolina, right? And so the march five primary, I’m I’m already the nominee, already through that, and there’s an active primary on the other side in North Carolina. That seat has not been won by a Republican since 1896 oh, Lord, which is anomalous. It’s way too long. It’s a weird it’s a weird anomaly. And as the two party system there sort of matured in the 1970s there’s just been sort of a string of preeminent Democrats who’ve held the seat. It is an open seat, and we’ve come closer and closer and closer to the point of being like a 10th of a percent out of it, even though being outspent like 25 to one in prior cycles. So I’m going to change that, and we’re already on the way to doing it. We’ve got to lead in the polling that’s available publicly, and so we’re working hard.

Well, first of all, thank you for your courage. Thank you, Elaine, because I know that all of what you’ve done, it takes courage, and I know that you know everybody out there likes to think you know, why aren’t they doing this and why aren’t they doing that? I’ve been around Washington long enough now to know that there is no easy solutions. There is no, you know, sadly, I have to say the Republican Party is not friends to the each other. There’s not one, not friends to each other, yeah, not friends within themselves, right? And, and I think a lot of that is because I think we got a lot of people that were, what’s a good word for them, subversive, and weren’t really Republicans and not really weren’t conservative about their thinking, and leaned too far to the left, or at least too moderate to the left and, and we can’t have that, because, right? That’s not what it’s about. According to the Bible, if you vote the Bible, right, it doesn’t say there’s room for lenience.

No, that. I think that’s right. And, but I think it’s what you started off again with, Elaine. There are, you know, you find this in every political sphere, but certainly I’ve seen it in the House Republican Conference, right? There are a lot of people who want to be in Congress for this, maybe the a sense of prestige or or they want to be the guy in charge, right? And that’s about as far as it goes. So in fact, you often hear from people like that, well, we got to be unified. Doesn’t really matter what we’re doing, it’s going to be unified? Well, that doesn’t meet the test of of whether you’re led by the

voting for the other side, exactly, where’s the unit exactly in that you

have to be unified for a purpose, and that purpose has to begin with the word of the Lord and right, and the the eye, and then, you know, making sure we’re, we’re prepared to make change in the country for those problems that everybody can see in front of us, right? And I found that to be It’s a frustrating experience, and I and so I’ve been House Freedom Caucus, and we fought it out to try to get the right policy and the right procedures and make that institution operate the right way. And we got a long way to go, because there’s still a lot of squishy. That just want to occupy a seat and and don’t seem to know how bad the problems are that we confront right

and that all boils down to one thing, and that is, everybody needs to get out and vote and vote in the right people and out the right people. This is, this is what we signed up for. Yes, this is who we are. Okay, this is what our constitution says and allows, right? Let’s live by it. Let’s live by the Bible first, and then understand that we have a constitution and things are set forth so that whoever you vote in, so if you vote in Susie Speck, because she is the cutest, and she is got this great voice, and you really like her kids and her husband, and she ends up doing everything wrong. Remember, you voted her in if you didn’t vote at all, rather than for the opponent of Susie’s Speck, you also lost a vote for us. You’ve got to remember your vote counts that much. Right?

Absolutely true. I will say this, Elaine, because I go around and I meet a lot of people every minute I’m away from Washington, I’m all over the state of North Carolina and other places, meeting folks. One thing that heartens me or gives me a lift, gives me a sense of confidence, is I think that’s changing some of what you just described, the folks, the people seem to know it’s amazing. I’ll go everywhere I go, most rural place in North Carolina, people start talking to me about these intricate things on in DC that they’re aware of, right? People know what is happening. They’re getting more and more because

correct. They see a media that lies to them, an entertainment culture. I

don’t like to mince words. It is, you know, deception. It’s a lie. Yeah, and the Bible says to lie is a sin, okay?

That’s right, he’s the Great Deceiver, right? So here we go. Let’s tell the truth. And now that the truth is, we’ve said it long enough and over and over and we’re going to keep doing it. Yep, we’re not going to shut up. That’s for sure. We’re not taking a step back. No, we’re not. We’re going to keep going forward, and we’re going to speak the truth and love. And when we do that, we just know that all more and more people, as you say, are coming on board and starting to realize that they they better speak their voice, they better go to that meeting in town for the school board, or for the local community board or whatever, and get involved, because if they’re not involved, the devil is running our country right now. That’s correct. Okay,

I think that’s true. Elaine, when people are informed, as we were just agreeing that people are increasingly informed, and they’re and they’re they’re not passive. They’re involved. They involve themselves. It’s no longer possible for, you know, elected people, leaders, political figures, to pull the wool over people’s eyes. You can’t, and so I think, in turn, it’s one of the things, as I said, when we’re talking about being unified for a purpose. And for example, among Republicans in the House, if you’re going to do that, you can’t start by telling fibs or cosmetics or fakery about bills you’re going to file that never have a chance of becoming law. Right? You start with the truth. The American people can handle it. And in fact, you can build their covenants if you tell them the truth at all points and you don’t engage in the in the in the the fakery, that’s the that’s we see too much of that.

We know the thing is, is innocently. And I say that I mean that with all my heart, these people are innocently watching the local news, the CNNs, the CBS, the ABC all of these different stations and that. And they repeat everything the Democrats say, yeah, and 99% of it, I’ll be nice. 95% of it’s a lie. How’s that? I mean, no, really, it’s sad. You know, we need to pray for these people, for their for them to see the truth themselves, these people that have bought and sold their souls to for a job or, for, you know, thinking that they’re doing the right thing, please question everything. At least question it. Yep, please. When you hear something negative about somebody, I don’t care who it is, whether it’s President Trump or it’s it’s Dan or or who it is, when you hear something, why don’t you get. Online and check it out. Yeah, why don’t you go and see what the other people are saying? Why don’t you talk amongst your friends and that and see what reality is. Go to somebody who has a different point of view. Don’t be afraid to agree to disagree, but don’t be afraid to talk about things. We’ve gotten to the point where we hate so deeply and we’re so vicious amongst each other that you can’t even sit down and say your point of view and their point of view and just talk about it instead they want to be evil. Let’s quit that. I think that’s

right. You talked about in our visions toward one another, and you talked about how people can be misled by media, by and we’ve seen now increasing corruption in criminal justice, authorities and so forth. So I was just on a panel here at CPAC with Ken Paxton, the Attorney General of Texas, and with Stephen Miller and Mike Davis. And Paxton was making that, that point that many people, at least traditionally, who are center right Republicans or somewhat conservative or whatever. When, when you see something like now President Trump facing 91 felony indictments, you know that they would shrink back from that, or believe, just because someone’s made a charge, that you should just disconnect yourself from someone. And as you’ve just said, with the level of corruption that we see now, you can’t and you can’t do that. You’ve got to have enough independent mindedness to to understand what is happening, dig below the things and see what actually has occurred.

Let’s even just look at the common sense in it. Dan, the common sense says, Has anybody, anybody out there that is believing that there’s 91 real charges? Has anybody out there, any of you been accused of doing something in your life that you didn’t do that’s exactly right? You know. Let’s start with this. A child. Did your sister or brother or friend at school say that you did it when you didn’t, and it was them. Come on, be real. There’s a reason that there’s something called a sin that is a lie. People lie because they want to. You know, when I was a kid, I was abused, and so I lied because if I got caught, I knew what I was going to get, and it wasn’t going to be good, right? Okay, you can learn to lie. You can also learn to tell the truth, and you can also understand the difference, and we have to understand that right now, people are lying because they want to manipulate you. They want to run this country. They’re letting millions of people across our border to come and attack us, and you can’t see that. Please. People wake up. This is so important.

Common sense will serve us. Well, oh, well, you know. So, for example, that specific thing, 91 felony Council against President Trump. But then if you start looking and read and read the details, and what they’re saying is something that, well, they were, effectively, they were assembling an electoral slate, or slate of alternative electors, as the controversy over the election was happening. Now they’re suggesting that that, well, that’s the basis of multiple, you know, federal counts. And Fauci Fannie Willis, with all her corruption, is engaged in a, you know, said, she says it’s a racketeering conspiracy, but that’s but alternative electorate slates have been going on in this country since Thomas Jefferson and so that doesn’t meet the test of common sense. It’s not like someone’s gone and robbed a bank or robbed a store and Donald Trump’s, you know, this new judgment in New York’s New York, the New York court against him for something where no bank was the bank got paid. And they’re just saying, well, he misstated the values of his real estate properties to inflate his his but no, there’s no victim. How is that a fraud? And they’re saying, well, we’ve got to do this to to vindicate the perfect business ethics in New York. Are you kidding me? It’s just none of that makes common sense. So if you apply a common sense test and you recognize that there are a lot of a lot of sources of information, certainly including media, entertainment culture, that are all seeking to deceive you, you can look through that and see and decide what to reject, but I think it requires us to be have a greater certitude, a greater confidence about what we’re trying to do. And that goes right back to believing in the Lord and testing what you’re seeing and doing against scripture.

That’s right. That’s right. Well, you know, just one quick comparison. I know somebody in Arizona right now that’s put their house on the market and asked an architect what he thought it was worth and a real estate agent, and they both came out with $9 million well, that house is 9500 square feet. 9500 square feet. It’s. On two acres of land, and that Judge tried to say that President Trump was wrong to say that Mar a Lago was more than twice that much as this 9500 square foot home on two acres. I take your point. Okay, yeah, I want these people to get the point that there is no way Mar a Lago with all the acreage and all the property and all of the buildings,

absolutely could be worth only twice as much as an individual home. It may be beautiful, it may be lovely. It may be in a nice location, but it ain’t down in in Palm Beach

So, you know, Let’s Talk Common Sense, exactly, right? Okay, yep. So anyways, well, we’re going to have to, you know, our 15 minutes is about, thank you for the chance to talk.
