Elaine Beck, Hi everyone. I’m Elaine Beck, and the name of our show is it’s not about us, because it’s not it’s about all the things that we are here to do in loving our Lord and serving Him. So today, I have another wonderful guest. His name is Hogan Gidley, yes, ma’am. I like your name. Good. It reminds me of another word I know, giggle and you do that.

Hogan Gidley 0:38
Well, I never heard that. But okay, I’ll take that,

Elaine Beck 0:43
you know, it’s, it’s a wonderful thing, Hogan, what you’re doing, and I’m, I’m so excited to have you on the show, because I’ve heard ever since the the stolen election, that you were sent out to see what we could do and what’s really happening and get the behind the scenes story. And I know you’ve worked so hard, and I personally haven’t had a chance to thank you, so I’ll do that now, and I’m sure the people out there in our audience would feel the same way. Can you share with us some of the things that you’re working on now and how it all started for you,

Hogan Gidley 1:22
sure. I think after 2020 there were a lot of questions. And we saw examples of illegalities, irregularities, anomalies and fraud. And every time we would say this to the press, they would say, well, there’s not enough fraud to overturn the election, or not enough systemic fraud. And my question was always the same, how much fraud is okay to you? Is one vote? Is one vote okay? Is it 100 and 1000 10,000 you tell me. And so there are a lot of instances out there documented. We’ve had convictions. And despite every state some people trying to subvert the will of the people, you have to protect every legal vote and every legal voter. That’s the bottom line. And so much of what we’re working on at the America First Policy Institute is to really make it easy to vote and hard to cheat. And what we’ve seen is kind of the opposite for a long time. And remember, this isn’t anything new. And so when people get mad at us and they say, you know, you guys are election deniers, or you guys, Okay, listen. Hakeem Jeffries is the minority leader. He called Trump illegitimate. He’s an election denier. Kareem Jean Pierre from the podium, you know, she also said Trump was illegitimate. Hillary Clinton said he was illegitimate. All of these people have been saying this for a long time. Remember, because in 2016 it was your duty to question the outcome of the election. If you didn’t, you worked for Vladimir Putin, you were some type of a Russian stooge, right? And so we’re just asking questions. The real problem here is a lot of times they don’t have answers. And so when you ask them why is their registration rate in their county over 100% which is impossible. They don’t have an answer for it, right? It’s fine if you have an answer. Let’s just work to fix it. People on both sides of the aisle have been complaining about this for decades, and so what we’ve been working to do is kind of educate people on the policies that really prevent illegalities and prevent these types of fraud, fraudulent behavior from happening. And I’m happy to report, we’ve passed bills in about 32 states, forms of voter identification, signature match verifications, time constraints on when you can return ballots, those types of things.

Elaine Beck 3:17
How’s things going in Arizona?

Hogan Gidley 3:18
You know, Arizona is always a struggle, but we just had a bill actually come before Katie Hobbs, because she had, she had refused to allow signature verification. She vetoed a bill last year. But Republicans did something really smart. There was a bill in Arizona, as I recall, that basically, you had to pass this bill by a certain date or you couldn’t hold an election. Right, right? Republicans slipped in those election integrity pieces to that bill, and Katie had to sign it, because if she doesn’t, you can’t hold an election. So there are things like that we’ve been doing, wising up to the tactics they use, and we’re using them ourselves. And look, it’s nowhere near to perfect, but I will tell you, it’s a lot better off now than it was before, in large measure, because if you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu right. And we have people in the rooms now, learning how to be poll watchers, learning how to be poll workers, absolutely well versed on the law, what they can and can’t do with filming people with asking questions. Who do they go to when they see something happening? And also having attorneys on the ground ready to go to be reactive and proactive. That is the key to this whole thing.

Elaine Beck 4:16
Yeah, it really is. And I agree with you. I just know that I live in Arizona, and it’s a struggle. It’s a struggle because we’re battling the border and with no help, we are battling the election integrity, and we know that people are trying to help, but we don’t seem to be breaking through enough that we’re not very concerned, you know. And like I said, I know that this is a big battle, and you’ve got 50 states to worry about and think of and consider, and I know that a lot of people are working very hard, not only at your in the company you work with, but in others, like. CPI and that.

Speaker 1 5:01
I mean, we’re working well with all of those groups, because we need everybody. You know, we do the any. Every time I give a speech in this country, I’m all over the country giving speeches, I get the same question, and they say some version of this, and they say, Why can’t Republicans be on the same talk? Why can’t we push the same message out? And I’m like, well, a couple reasons. One is, by our nature, we’re just more individualistic, right? They all move together as a group. The Democrats move so that you can push and pull them as you need them to be pushed or pulled politically. But at the same time, politics is a team sport, and we’ve got to learn how to play better together. And we have learned over the course of last several years, guys, I’m not trying to take your pot of money or I’m not trying to take your group. I want to work with your group. Where are you deficient? Let me plug that hole for you, right. Where can we take the lead and you guys help us out? Those the types of things I think are important, because you need kind of that field general to look at the whole group.

Elaine Beck 5:52
But, you know, people are so competitive? Oh, of course, I know. I have to laugh, because, you know, here I am, little Ollie lane. Beck with it’s not about us. I’m on CPAC now, which is a great thing, you know, but I’m no big person. I mean, I don’t sit around comparing myself. How foolish would it be for me to compare myself with Newsmax, who’s next door, or maybe, you know, some of the other big stations and that that would be silly. I am satisfied to do what God wants me to do, and that’s where we have to start looking. What is it God is calling you to do? Yes, he’s calling us to become the bigger army, but to work together. But yet, we’re all individuals, and he calls us each individually to do what talents and gifts he gave us to use.

Hogan Gidley 6:45
He’s not calling everybody to be a general. You want some people to be privates on the field of vows. And look, the Christian aspect of this is vital to me and who I am and how I was raised. The Lord called me to himself when I was quite young, but I’ve learned to grow and learn so much about the Bible and and, you know, it’s so it’s such a wonderful book, because it’s so surface, you can learn just a few things, but it’s so deep, it’s unsearchable, right? It’s the deepest. So I’ll tell you what’s fascinating. You mentioned something little Elaine. You said, You know, oftentimes I think about myself because I grew up, you know, with a single mother. I had a great relationship my father, but my mother raised me. I don’t have a big political last name. You said, Gidley sounds like giggle. It’s not Kenneth, it’s not Kennedy. It’s not Bush, right? It’s not Clinton. Thank God it’s not Clinton. But, you know, you know what I’m saying. Like, I don’t have that last name, but I got, I got to go in the White House every single day, right? And stand in front of the the the resolute desk in the Oval Office, right, and give the President of the United States advice right now, he never took any of it, but that’s not the but that’s not the point.

Elaine Beck 7:52
I told you giggle, right?

Hogan Gidley 7:53
But only in this country what someone like me get to give it right? Because God is using each of us in a different way. Lean into the talents God gave you. Can use those, right? And if I need to go ballot harvest, and that’s what he wants me to do, and that’s what I’m called to do, and I feel led to do it. I’ll do that. Right? If I need to be on TV, on shows like yours, I’ll do that. And so I think all of us realizing we have certain talents he’s given them, how do they mesh with other people, right? Right? And how do they work for the greater good? I think that’s vital.

Elaine Beck 8:22
Yes. And you know, one time, I went in and interviewed for a job, and I thought that I didn’t get it because I had the audacity to sit down in front of a very young man about the age difference we are and say to him, when he asked me what my my management style was, I said that there’s nobody above me or beneath me, so I treat everybody the same, you know. And I went home and I said to my husband, I bet I blew that one. That young man probably thought, well, I’ll dare her think that she’s as good as I am. You know, I was applying for a housekeeping supervisor job, by the way, wow. And so it was really cool, because months later, I run into this guy, because he was only there temporarily to fix things, sure, and he told me the reason he hired me is because I said that, because he said, This is the way everybody should think, that we’re all equal, whether it’s in in stature, or it’s in, you know, of finances, or if it’s in, you know, our beliefs or what, we’re all equal in God’s eyes, right? And if we see everybody that way, then we are in the place we’re supposed to be, yeah.

Hogan Gidley 9:39
And like I said, If God calls someone to be a general, right, and he calls someone to be a private, right? Okay, those roles are defined. He doesn’t want the private trying to command and he didn’t want the general trying to fight on the field. He calls you to do different things. It doesn’t mean the private is less than the general. They’re equal, like you said, under God’s eyes, they just had different. Roles and different talents, right? And they’re both needed. They’re both needed. Absolutely, I agree with you.

Elaine Beck 10:05
Honor, yeah, yeah. So I think it’s really important for us to all understand that whether you’re out knocking on doors or you’re speaking out at your church, yes, or you are, you know, going and take the classes to learn how to be one of the people that counts the votes afterwards, you know, or how to set at the polls and watch and stuff. This is important. Everybody’s vital, vital,

Hogan Gidley 10:31
vital, yeah, and that’s the thing we myself, Kellyanne. We kind of call it the non sexy part of politics, the nuts and bolts, the blocking and tackling the poll watcher, the poll worker, ballot harvesting, the ballot chasing. That’s right, making sure you’re there now to influence election boards and secretaries of state and attorneys general, going out and door knocking, all of those things are what go to win an election. That’s right. They also go to lose an election if you don’t do them, right? That’s right, not just the candidate. It’s not just the media, it’s all of those other little pieces, and you have to be able to build that out. And quite frankly, the Republicans have been really bad at that for the last several cycles, and they have to step to it. And I think a lot of groups like turning point out there in Arizona, daily wire, others are getting young people involved as well. And look, they’re in high school, they see when the left comes forward and says, we think, you know, men should compete in women’s sports, they know that’s wrong, right? So I think that’s catapulting a lot of those folks to get involved. But we also have to kind of retrain ourselves too, at our level, to go all right? What needs to be done in these places? If you need door knockers, let’s get a door knocker program, right? If you need voter registration, how do we better register voters? What businesses do we go to and ask them to help us? What events can we attend to to where they’re a bunch of people get involved

Elaine Beck 11:49
in your local GOP organization. We have one in Oro Valley. It’s a women’s group, and we don’t mind if the men come.

Hogan Gidley 12:00
Well. Thank you. I appreciate that,

Elaine Beck 12:03
but I think it’s very important, if you get involved, then you’ll learn what you need to know about that candidate. All this stuff is spoke of, and people come in and actually get to speak and say why you should vote for him. Get involved, yes. And

Speaker 1 12:18
you know, you hit on something. When I first got into television, I was an anchor and reporter before I got into politics, before I got into politics. You know, when I was in college, we had the only totally student run newscast in the country, and we did it every day at five, like a regular station would, right? And they didn’t care about it. You had homework. You had to do it. But I learned how to run the teleprompter. I learned how to run the camera. I learned how to flip on the microphones, the switchboard. I was an anchor. I did weather. I did sports. Point point being, I know what every job entails, and I appreciate what everybody brings to the table to get something done. So when I look at it and they would say, you don’t know about a camera, sure I do. I had to carry my own. So I know what you’re going through. Let me help carry the tripod, right? I understand the struggles of each person, so it’s good to get involved, to learn all the aspects. Find out what you’re good at. Find out what makes you excited. Find out what makes an election go and be successful and do those things

Elaine Beck 13:10
Right exactly and and if, if you are at home and you can’t get out, you know, you can make phone calls, you can you can pray. You know, the most important thing and and we’ve saved this for last, the most important thing that any of us can do is pray, not only for what God you know wants you to do individually, but also how you can pray for the people running and ask God to help you discern who to vote for and who not to how to seek the answer about, you know, who are the better candidates and who aren’t. You know, understand that you know my my saying, I sort of stole from Pastor John Hagee, who says, vote the Bible? Yeah, I love that I still have the sign that I got from him the last election. It will be in my front yard. Yeah, I think that it’s so important that we’re active. Yeah, active, active, active. So pray for all these things, but also pray for your enemies, sure, because that’s what God is saying, that if we don’t pray for our enemies. And, and I ask everybody to go to Wayne, we are not enemies.com. Doctor Carson, and I have got something on there, sure. And, and so pray for all those things, and know that we’re always praying for our guests, yeah, you know. And I’ll be praying for you, Hogan. I know that your work is is hard, and that you’re working mightily for for our Heavenly Father and for our country, and that’s who we are. Proverbs, Media Group is all about God and country, yeah. And what an honor it was to have you today. Can you have any last words for everybody?

Hogan Gidley 14:59
Other than the fact that religious liberty, I think in this country, is always under attack. And I think the previous administration Donald Trump, look, I don’t necessarily demand that my politician believe like me, that the Bible is inerrant inspired the infallible word of the Lord. I think Donald Trump believes that. Of course, I don’t demand that. What I demand my politicians do is they protect my right to believe that. And so often, what we have are people in office now who don’t allow us to believe the way we believe, right? And so voting your values and voting the Bible is so key to put people in power so they can protect those rights.

Elaine Beck 15:32
But the problem is, Hogan is right now, we’ve got too many people that don’t believe that, and often, and there the devil is running. Okay, look, so we gotta be careful. We gotta stick with, you know, God says he’s over the government. That means that we, his people should be running it. Yes, yes. So vote for those people that are, are believers.

Speaker 1 15:55
He implemented the church, he ordained the church, the family and the state. Amen, be involved in all of them absolutely well. God

Elaine Beck 16:02
bless you. God bless you.

Hogan Gidley 16:03
Thank you so much. Thank you very much.

Elaine Beck 16:05
Nice seeing you. You too, and God bless all of you. We’ll see you next time you
