Elaine, hi everyone, Elaine, Beck here, and we are happy to be at our show today. You know my favorite word is excited. We know this is not going to be the most exciting subject that you’ll ever hear, but it’s a very pertinent subject, and it’s something that we all need to talk about. But I am excited about my guest. Her name is Kathy Herod, and she’s got a long history of fighting for Arizona and for this country, and always remember subjects that we do on here may pertain to a particular state or era, not just ours, but the truth of the matter is, it affects everybody in this country. You know Kathy, one of the things that I learned a long time ago was that people don’t seem to understand that if you vote in your congressman for your area, right? And you say, well, he’s going to protect me right here and stuff, and I can call him if I have a personal problem with something, a lawyer or whatever. And that’s all great to know, right, right? But the reality is, is all, what is it? 256 or something like that, all of them that are in the house, or all of them that are in the Senate, that’s the house, all of them, each vote can either add to or cancel out another vote, absolutely,

Cathi Harrod 1:35
and especially when you look at the US Senate, with 100 senators and they’re voting on judicial nominations, right? They’re voting on adoption, affirming nominations of cabinet members, right, that are going Secretary of State. They’re going there. What’s going on in Israel? I mean, it’s critically important, those two Senate votes from Arizona are affecting the rest of the country. No doubt, no question,

Elaine Beck 1:59
absolutely, and and that’s what I really want the people in this country to understand, that who you vote for is just not you know all well, they’re on the school board. Let me tell you a little story, and then we’ll get on to the other subject. Well, this, this always pertains. But I went to something recently. I’m not going to say where anything. I’m not trying to put anybody in a bad light. No, no particular thing, but I went to an event not too long ago, and there was a bunch of people, and they they’re all friends, and they know each other. They all live near each other. And when I got there, they said, Oh, have you sign the petition for so and so to be on the school board? And I said, No, I have it. And they said, well, we’ll pass it down to you so you can sign it. And I said, Well, you know, I’ll need to know what this person’s position is and why they’re running, and what they plan to do with it. And they’re like, Well, we know her and and she’s been, you know, a school teacher for years, and she’s been, you know, and stuff. I don’t know why you’d question it. I mean, they were like, indignant, you know. And I’m like, Well, I think that if you’re going to vote for a position or a person, you better know their position, because this is how we end up with people that we don’t need and that are going to harm us, not help us. And a few people there acted very offended by my comments. So I said, well, they said, Well, you better ask her. So I went over and I tried to talk to her, and finally she comes over to me, and when I said, you know, I wanted to know, you know your your position, of how you feel about what’s happening in the in the school systems, if you’re going to be on the board? Well, I’ve been a school teacher for X amount of years, and I you know, and I’m like, well, that’s great. I think that’s wonderful. So what do you think about the fact that they’re now indoctrinating children in some school systems instead of, oh, that’s nothing more than going down a rabbit hole that doesn’t really happen. And, and, and, why would you even bring that up? Do you prove it to me? You know? And I’m like, I will. I can send you some information now, chances are, no matter what I send her, she’s going to say that we made it up, that is, you know how? You know how this battle is going, right now, right? Good versus evil. And I don’t blame her. You know, these people are blinded by what they they want, and they they think that they’re doing a service by running for something. And remember people, it is so important to understand that, unless you know, just like this, the things that we’re going to be talking about today, all of these things are vital. But you have to know the person behind it or the issue behind it. You have to understand that so you can vote appropriately. Now here was a perfect case. There was 18 people there. There was two of us that I know of that said no, the rest of them did it because they know her and like her. Well, the devil knows Jesus, but do you gonna turn to Him, the devil? You can’t do that. No,

Cathi Harrod 5:49
and that’s what’s been happening for too long, and especially when we look at this election year, we’re at such a maybe a tipping point, or a turning point, when throughout this country, on school boards, we’re on the verge of taking over school boards. It’s already been happening. I can think of South Lake, Texas. I can think of some in Virginia, in Arizona, in our home state, we’ve had some school boards where, like, two of the five member school boards, where two of the five now are really very pro criminal rights and trying to expose things. They elect that third one this election year, they’re going to make changes in those districts. So that’s where voters they’ve got to know where candidates stand and vote accordingly. So, for example, the organization that I represent, Center for Arizona Policy, we have a website, azvoterguide.com we have information on school board candidates, on candidates for state legislature, and we’re going to have an education issues voter guide, find out where these candidates stand, and then you in its objective, it’s, you know, I like to say it’s just the facts, ma’am, but you know, don’t I love that? You know, don’t vote for candidates on on whether they they’re likable or not. Vote on where they stand on the issues, right? And they’re like minded organizations around the country. Okay, so the same service,

Elaine Beck 7:02
excuse me, do we have that for all the candidates? Yes, we will

Cathi Harrod 7:06
have it for the presidential race, federal candidates, state legislative candidates, judges, school board candidates. In Arizona, we will have that both for the primary care. The primary is July 30. We will have by the end of June, we will have azvoterguide.com, up and running with information on the primary candidates, and then by the end of September, we will have it for the general election candidates. Okay,

Elaine Beck 7:29
so I want you to repeat that, yes, the dates. I want you all to write this down. I want you all to remember that right now, maybe you’re at work, or you’re on the road or something, but there’s going to be a way, and we’re going to post this on my stuff too. We will post that on the Elaine beck.com when we can get information in Arizona about the voting. And I encourage people throughout the country that might listen to this to know that every state has a place you can go, seek it, read it. They keep it short and sweet. It gives you the general, most important information you could possibly have on candidates. I mean, let’s face it, it’s impossible for any of us to know all the people, or to go to all of their speeches, or to to, you know, to be here, and that we can, especially people that have young kids and families and stuff, and their votes are vital, vital, vital, vital.

Cathi Harrod 8:42
And I would caution listeners to you know, to not just look at campaign literature, not just look at what whatever you might see. So in Arizona, it’s az voterguide.com We’ll have it posted by June 30 for the primary. By I’ll say october 1 for the general election. Azvoterguide.com to find out in your state. For about 40 of the states, you can go to Family Policy Alliance, Family Policy Alliance, I think it’s dot org, but Family Policy alliance.org, and you can click, you can see if your state is listed, and contact your state person to find out what’s available in your state on voter information and so or Daisy voter guide.com if you have trouble finding your state, just send us a note and we’ll direct you to it as well. And so we’ll have information that we can get to you on what’s going on in Arizona or in your state.

Elaine Beck 9:33
We know. Just a week ago, I had somebody reach out to me and say, you know, is there a list somewhere so that I can, you know, and I’m like, I will find it well, God puts you right here in my studio and gave us all the answers. And yes, I think that’s so important, I’ll post the one that you talked about. That’s 40 states, yes, we’ll punch that yes, yes. And. We’ll post that on our social media accounts and stuff. And all of you can do the same thing. Post that for your friends and family. Let them know when you hear you know, this is what I try and tell them it’s like. So you see a good show, whether it’s on my show or and it’s good, you know, send it to your friends. Call your family and say, go to this and listen to this, go to this and look at that. You know, we all can grow. We all can become more knowledgeable. And you know, I loved it when you said your favorite proverb, because the name of my company is proverb, Proverbs Media Group, because God’s taught me a long time ago that Proverbs in the Bible is about wisdom and knowledge. Those are the focuses that’s talked about, the wisdom that God has given us to what is right, what is wrong, to know the blacks and the whites, not the in betweens, to know how a good man acts versus a bad man, what’s good, what’s evil? All of these things are so vital. What a beautiful thing to have this today. Thank you. Well, and

Cathi Harrod 11:07
that we’re accountable for how we vote, right? And you look at Arizona and certainly a number of other swing states that you know in our state, they say that over $800 million is going to come into our state the election cycle to flip our state from red to blue, and I’m talking in a nonpartisan way, but in our state, it’s a question of, are we going to be the next California or not? Are we going to continue that to be one of the best states, if not the best state in which to raise a family? So it’s a very critical election year in Arizona and certainly in a number of states. And so that’s, you know, I always say, you know, we’re also, we’re going to stand before a holy God someday and be accountable for how we use this privilege that’s called voting. And so to me, that’s, it’s a very serious duty that we have, and a very serious privilege. And so in in so many of the races in our state, and I know a number of states, it really is a choice. It’s a choice between someone who’s going to respect your right as a parent to train up your children in the way they should go, to respect the sanctity of human life, to respect religious freedom, and whether we’re going to be whether the First Amendment is going to mean what it’s supposed to mean, the free exercise of our beliefs, and so all those types of things are at sake to say nothing of any kind of business Freedom and that kind of stuff. But the core values that that we cherish as believers, really, it’s safe this election year,

Elaine Beck 12:27
right, right? And, and, you know, the thing is, is there’s few of us, and many of them, according to what the Scripture says, few will choose the narrow road, many will take the wide road and end up doing the wrong things versus doing the right things. Right Yes, in the simplest form, that’s the way it is. But you know what, if all of the few vote all of you, if every one of you make sure that you fill out that ballot, whether you put it in the mail or you go over to the voting booth on the day of or the day before or when it’s open, you have to Vote. You have to be the strongest people for God ever in this election. Don’t think, well, my vote doesn’t count, or one isn’t going to make a difference. One becomes many when you put them together. One man is so important right now, one woman, one teenager that just turned 18 and is old enough to vote, encourage each other, take each other, put a put a lunch together with your girlfriends, and say, let’s all go vote, and then we’ll go to lunch, or the guys can go to breakfast and go vote the make make it something pleasurable. Everybody wants to look at going to vote as, oh, it’s a responsibility, and I don’t know if I want to bother and I’m too busy and stuff. Make it something joyful, because it is when you do unto the Lord. You should do it with joy. Vote with joy.

Cathi Harrod 14:22
Well, here’s my favorite story about Arizona voting is that one year there was a tie vote, and when there’s a tie vote in Arizona, it requires that the vote be decided by a game of chance. And so sure enough, the two men that had the tie vote, they played a game of poker on the floor of the Arizona House with a game of poker hand being dealt by the Arizona Secretary of State and and one of the the man who lost the game of poker, his wife had had failed to vote that day. So it’s one of those things. So I always say, especially to a group of believers, do you want your vote to be decided by a game of poker dealt on the floor of the Arizona House? You. Get out there and vote.

Elaine Beck 15:01
Oh, I love that. That’s a great story, and it’s a little shameful, actually. But in reality, you know everything teaches you a principle. If you pay attention, everything that happens in your life happens for a reason. Don’t think it’s all you know, coincidence or by accident or good luck, in case you don’t aware of it, Lucifer starts with Luc as so does Locke, okay, so just remember that make your own choices. Choose to go vote, choose to be that good Christian, choose to be that person that you know. What is it? The Bible says that faith without works is dead. You know. This is works. Yes, you know. But you can make a pleasure. You can have fun with it. You can have a the night before, a party at your house to celebrate that you’re all going to go vote or have it the night of, and celebrate that you all, everybody that brings their sticker to show that you know is invited to the party, do something that make it important enough that You do it either way,

Cathi Harrod 16:22
and if you vote early turn in that ballot,

Elaine Beck 16:24
Yes, amen, amen. Amen. We know we’ve used all of our time this segment on something other than what we were going to talk about, so we’re going to do another segment, people, and we just love you, and we’re so glad that you listen to all this, because it is vitally important, and we’re excited about it. Get your passion out. You know, because we all should be passionate about what happens if our children are going to be safe, if our country is going to be safe, if we’re going to keep giving ourselves over to this, what do we call it dysfunction, or if we want to get back to a law and order country and we learn to live the Golden Rule again, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. That’s how I feel. God bless you. Thank you for coming to my show. Thank you, Kathy, for being here again. And remember, I’m always praying for you. Please pray for us. Have a blessed day.
